The first Global MIMS Alumni meeting was conducted on May’20 2023 in Washington, D.C. at Marriott Crystal Gateway. The meeting was attended by Dr. P.S. Reddy, Dr. Madhumohan, Dr. M.V. Subba Rao (Principal, MIMS), Dr. Shailendra (Vice-Principal, MIMS), and Alumni of MIMS of various batches.
The meeting commenced with address to the audience by Dr. P.S. Reddy, Dr. M.V. Subba Rao, Dr. Shailendra and Dr. Madhumohan. The whole program was organized and conducted by the MIMS Alumni group led by Drs. Akhildeep Puskoor Anoop Puskoor, Sandeep Sankineni and Bhakti Deshmukh with close guidance, supervision and mentorship of Dr. Madhumohan
Dr. P.S. Reddy elaborated the vision of MIMS and the importance of building and strengthening a culture of research at MIMS among UG Students, PG residents and faculty. Dr. M.V. Subba Rao emphasized on the role that Alumni can play in partnering with its alma mater in its initiatives and welcomed the Alumni association to join MIMS in its endeavors to improve the quality of education and research at MIMS. Dr. Shailendra while addressing the gathering, brought out the key attributes of an Alumni group of an institution and highlighted the examples from history of Medicine showcasing the path-breaking contribution of Alumni associations in the field of Medicine. Dr. Shailendra further expressed that the MIMS Alumni Association can be a formidable resource to reinforce the ongoing educational and research endeavors at MIMS.
Dr. Madhumohan appreciated all the participants for their energy and enthusiasm in successfully conducting a grand first MIMS Global Alumni meeting and mentioned that this Alumni group in future shall be a solid foundation for strengthening the bond between MIMS and its Alumni for a mutually enriching and rewarding experience
The program concluded with Dr. Madhumohan expressing thanks to all and wishing everyone the very best in all their professional endeavors.
The program was followed by Dinner with networking among all participants with potential for the Alumni association playing a key role in reinforcing MIMS endeavors in promoting and sustaining excellence in medical education and research in the days ahead
